Dave Adams
dave@motoberlin.com

I was born in Johannesburg some time back and have been a "petrol-head" since my early years. I have always had an urge for two wheels and have only owned and ridden BMW motorcycles, starting with a R100RT. This was quickly succeeded by many more BMW's. I have been riding since the age of 18 and have extensive experience in and around South Africa and the neighbouring countries, and have also toured Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, by BMW Motorcycle. I worked in the motor industry in South Africa and then ventured

out into my own businesses. MotoBerlin was started in 2000 as a BMW Motorcycle Rental depot and grew to having a base in Cape Town and Johannesburg. We run our own fleet of motorcycles for rental and our Adventure Tours, as well as our own back up and support vehicles. As the owner of MotoBerlin, join us for your own bike rental and tour or on one of our Adventure tours.

Steve Thomas
steve@motoberlin.com

My name is Steve Thomas and as a born and bred Cape Townian, I love the outdoors. Since learning to ride a bike at the age of 14 and having stripped and re-built a 1968 Suzuki 250 T120, a 1969 Honda 450 Black Bomber and a 1974 Yamaha 350 R4, I have now cut back on working on bikes, but still enjoy riding whenever I get the chance at all of 49 years old.

After having worked in the Corporate world of International Re-insurance in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Munich, Zurich, London and New York, I rebelled gainst the ego's and back-stabbing antics in the Boardroom

and relocated back to my home in Cape Town, to start living as it is intended. Having learnt German whilst living and working in Munich, I starting my own Tour Guiding business in 2001 to specifically cater for the German and English speaking visitors to South Africa. I have assisted with Motor Cycle Tours as a Back-Up Van Driver for a Cape Town based Tour Operator as well as having also led my own Tours around South Africa.

My speciality is to design Motor Cycle Tours to suit the individual group and include their own interests to be built in and around the many popular sightseeing destinations we have in South Africa. Rather than give my Guests an "Off the shelf Tour," I endeavour to make their memories of South Africa more unique, personal and the most memorable.

Alex Mavronicolas
alex@motoberlin.com

My name is Alex Mavronicolas, a Greek born and bred in South Africa. Having pretty strict parents I had to grow up without enjoying the pleasures of owning and riding motorbikes, until I purchased an off road YZ125 Yamaha at the age of 16 years and kept it at my mates house. Any opportunity I got, I was on the bike ripping up the dirt and exploring the mountains around me.

Today I have all the BMW bikes at my disposal that I could possibly want to ride and any opportunity I get, I make the most of it . My role at MotoBerlin is to see that

all bikes are in excellent condition, to ensure that our customers are taken care of from planning the tour in the early stages to seing them off at the airport. What makes us different from the competition is that you get that personal touch as we value your business and would like to see you return for another MotoBerlin experience.

Keith Stewart - UK Correspondent
keith@motoberlin.com

Like my colleagues I started riding "buzz bikes" (49cc) from the age of 15 years old. Going to school on a motorcycle in the 60's made you the coolest kid on the block. Within a short while the appeal of off-roading kicked in and since then I have owned a variety of "Scramblers" and having more than my fair share of seeing places that the road bound could not imagine.

Our enjoyment of enduro racing and motorcycle touring led my brother and I to go into the manufacture of waterproof nylon

purpose built motorcycle luggage (Boni Bag). At the time this was a major move away from canvas and leather. Tiger Wheels/Pro Racing saw the potential of what we were producing and under their umbrella I ended up with a factory and CMT operation, designing and developing touring luggage, MX and BMX kit. This gave me a great opportunity to try the stuff out and indulge the passion.

The first thing I did on relocating to the UK was buy an Aprilia Pegaso as transport and when ever possible I toured the British Isles and Europe. While holidaying aboard I saw the potential of motorcycle and scooter hire.

On returning to SA for an extended summer holiday I helped Dave Adams set-up the Cape Town depot of MotoBerlin and before long ended up managing a fleet of 30 scooters and 35 BMW's. Due to other factors I now live back in the South West of England. With the above experience of South Africa and on/off road motorcycle touring, I am more than happy to share my knowledge with you and co-ordinate the experience of a life-time.

Alan Foxcroft
alan@motoberlin.com

My name is Alan "Foxy" Foxcroft. I was born in Newcastle, KZN, RSA but bred in Jo'burg. Having a father with a keen enthusiastic motorcycling backround, I was fortunate enough to have been spoiled with the pleasures of TWO wheels from an early age. I started by doing motorcross while still in school, after leaving school I tried as many different styles of TWO wheel adventuring possible as and when the opportunities were presented. Such as, getting to know the city roads on an old GS750s Suzuki when I was just 17 then going on to a bit of speedway, enduro, trials, stunt

riding and supermoto. I pride myself in my passion for motorcycles and hope to extend those benefits to others. With my keen interest and easy going person skills I now, proudly, manage the Cape Town office of MOTOBerlin and see to it that YOU, the customer, have the greatest and safest ride when hiring our motorcycles.

The true adventure starts when you are on two wheels. Come and experience it with us.
